FotonAI ("us," "we," or "our") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use, share, and protect it when you use the FotonAI mobile application ("Application").
By downloading or using our Application, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
To provide the core functionality of our Application, we need to access and process certain information.
a) User-Provided Information (Photographs)
Input Images: The core feature of our Application is to transform your photos using AI. To use this feature, you must select a photo from your device's gallery or take a new photo using your camera.
Use of Input Images: The photos you upload (e.g., "selfies") are sent securely to our AI model (Firebase Generative Model) to apply the style and text prompt you have selected. Your original photos are not permanently stored on our servers. They are only processed temporarily until the AI operation is complete.
b) Application-Generated Information (Generated Images)
Output Images: The new images generated by the AI are sent back to your application after processing is complete.
Local Storage: These generated images are stored temporarily in your device's cache directory to be presented to you and for your easy access. These images are not stored on our servers. You can clear these images by clearing your device's cache or uninstalling the Application.
c) Purchase and Subscription Information
We use a third-party service, RevenueCat, to manage in-app purchases ("Pro" subscriptions).
When you purchase a subscription, RevenueCat manages your subscription status (active, expired, etc.) and an anonymized user identifier. Your payment information (credit card number, etc.) is processed directly by the Google Play Store or Apple App Store; we do not have access to or store this information.
d) Automatically Collected Information (Device and Usage Data)
User ID: Our Application may create an anonymous user ID, such as "foton_[unique_id]", which is visible in the settings and primarily used to manage your subscriptions.
Analytics Data: Third-party services like RevenueCat may collect anonymized technical data, such as device model, operating system version, and application usage statistics, for the purposes of providing the service, identifying errors, and improving service quality.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide Core Application Functionality: To process your uploaded photos and selected styles to generate AI-transformed images for you.
- To Manage Services: To verify and provide access to the features associated with your "Pro" subscription.
- To Improve the Application: To understand usage trends, debug errors, and optimize the performance and user experience of our Application.
3. How We Share Your Information
Your privacy is important to us. We do not sell or rent your personal information (especially your photos) for marketing purposes without your consent. We only share your information with the following parties and under the following circumstances:
- AI Service Providers (Google Firebase): The core photo generation functionality of our Application is provided by Google's Firebase Generative Model (Gemini) service. To create the AI image, the photo you upload (as a Bitmap) and the related text prompt are sent to Google's servers. This data is used solely to perform the generation operation.
- Subscription Management Services (RevenueCat): We use RevenueCat to manage, verify, and restore your "Pro" subscriptions. Your subscription status and anonymous user ID are shared with this service.
- Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information if required by law (e.g., in response to a court order or official investigation).
4. Data Security
We take technical and administrative measures to ensure the security of your information. Data transfers (such as sending your photo to the AI model) are conducted over encrypted channels. However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or method of storage is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
Input Photos: The original photos you upload are not permanently stored on our servers or the third-party AI provider's systems after the AI generation process is complete.
Generated Photos: The generated images are stored in your device's local cache for your access. We do not have server-side access to these files.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Application is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of the policy. We recommend that you review this policy periodically.
